David Cummings – Sicily Jewel of the Mediterranean
David is from South Wales, and has taught & lived in Chester since 1964. After a successful 25 year career as a Head teacher at Christleton Primary School, he has become a guest speaker on a wide range of topics, throughout the North West and Wales. He is an author of a number of books on local history; He writes & illustrates monthly articles on https://www.christleton.org.uk/christleton4/ – He was appointed BEM in the 2020 Queens Birthday Honours List for his services to the village of Christleton and City of Chester.
Sicily – The Jewel of the Mediterranean, is the story of an amazing island, with a complex history. The presentation features the way ancient societies, including Greeks, Romans, Normans, Byzantines, Moslems, Arabs and Christians, have created a fascinating mix of cultures and works of art for us to enjoy today. David also explores the flora and fauna of the island, still dominated by Mount Etna, a very active Volcano.
Simon and Lisa Thomas – Extreme Lives

Their Photographic skills have seen them work with NGO’s, International Publications and Major brands around the world.

Ferry to “Ward’s Island” leaves at 10:30, 11:30, 12:00 , 12:30, 13:30 (mask required) Get your tickets on-line and leave early (you can deposit your ‘stuff’ at Bruce’s house, take a walk around the island, or go to the beach).
